Both the first and second editions are now out of print, and this - the third edition - which includes Dr Stenhouse´s cogent introduction to the whole subject, contains much new information, discovered in the course of recent investigations, which completes the case for the National Poet, and should convince every impartial reader that Robert Burns wrote the original poem of "The Land o´ the Leal," and that the claim of Lady Nairne is mainly the invention of Dr Rogers, whose reputation for accuracy and truth was never of the best.
