The granite is rather fine grained with grayish colour and gives the contact-metamorphism to the palæozoic slate in the west side of the mountain. A. Mother Rock. I. Mineralogical Constitution. The granite consists essentially of the white felspars, grayish quartz, black biotite scales and oblong greenish black hornblende (Plate II, i).
