Our fathers have told us, and we have read in history - yes, some here present may remember what they themselves knew and felt - how throughout this land, five and sixty years ago, the whole people mourned with a great and sore lamentation when the tidings came that the Father of his Country had lain down to sleep the sleep of death! But that day of sorrow was not like this!
