The leading characters among the Jews having conspired to accomplish the destruction of the Son of God, laid violent hands upon him, in one of his retirements, and dragged him forcibly to the tribunal of their Roman Governour; alledging, that he was a blasphemer, and was traitorously prosecuting an interest against Cæsar.
