This appeal was understood, and literally followed by the true friends of the Saviour; we accordingly see them strip themselves of their goods, distribute the price to the poor, or lay it at the feet of the Apostles. We see them living afterwards in retirement, mutually edifying one another in a life of community, and making together but one heart and one soul.
