Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from Autobiography of Friedrich Froebel It is with some satisfaction that we are able to say that the corrections we have found it necessary to make in the text are very few and unimportant. We have taken this opportunity, however, to substitute for the original "Chronological Abstract" a much more complete and correct summary of the history of the movement than that which formerly accompanied our book. The recently published and most interesting "Reminiscences of Madame Luise Froebel" (Froebel´s second wife, who happily still lives, at Hamburg) have been added in the present edition. We are favoured by the permission of the translator and of the publisher (Mr. George Philip) to use Miss Lyschinska´s translation of these papers, which originally appeared in the early numbers of the English Froebelian journal, Child Life. A few slight verbal alterations have seemed advisable. At the beginning of the present year the Croydon Kindergarten Company, in which both of us worked for so many years, and which has given us such a store of happy memories, ceased to exist, having honourably fulfilled its mission, and provided worthily for the continuation of its work. We can, therefore, no longer date from "The Croydon Kindergarten" as heretofore, but would request any corrections or observations with which readers may favour us to be sent to Mr. Moore, at 104, Bishopsgate Street Within, London, E.C.
