There are two kinds of grace: the one is called sanctifying grace, and the other actual grace. I. On Sanctifying Grace. Sanctifying grace is that grace bestowed on us by God on the day of our Baptism, which remains in the soul ever afterwards, unless destroyed by mortal sin. A soul which is in sanctifying grace is said to be "in the state of grace." When you are in the state of grace, my child, your soul is very beautiful.
