I never sought to display my poetic talent, but have always written more or less, because (as I´ve often expressed myself) I couldn´t help it. I hope my readers will be able to find in these poems something of interest, and will also-excuse my simple style. I shall also endeavor to give you a short extract from my Shaker experience.
