There are guests both in the room and on the terrace. Just before the rise of the curtain we hear the murmur of voices gradually increasing then apparently very near, and a voice shouts, "Three cheers for Mr. Rodney!" during which the curtain rises, and Rodney Trask is discovered standing among those guests who are on the terrace. His manner is gay, and as the cheers continue he hows once or twice. He is turned in a three-quarters position to the audience, and is evidently facing a gathering below him. He has a cigarette between his fingers. Rodney. My dear friends.
