Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from Our Canadian Literature: Representative Prose and Verse Almost without exception our Canadian poets and authors have been willing to be quoted in this volume. In a few cases reluctance has been met in firms owning copyrights, necessitating the omission of a few names which would otherwise have been included, though it should be said that such firms were not, in most cases, Canadian. Sincere thanks are tendered to the writers and, publishers who have so graciously given this permission to quote from the works they control. Every reasonable care has been taken to trace the owners of copyright items and to secure definite permission. If any rights have been overlooked it is hoped that the unintentional oversight will be pardoned and that information will be given to the publisher enabling him to rectify the matter in subsequent editions. Definite acknowledgement is made to publishers and owners of copyrights, aside from the writers themselves, as follows: The Clarendon Press (Prof. G. M. Wrong´s "The Fall of Canada"). J. M. Dent & Co. (S. T. Wood´s "Rambles of a Canadian Naturalist"). Dodd, Mead & Co. (Charles G. D. Robert´s Poems: "A Song of Growth," "The Potato Harvest;" Arthur Stringer´s Poems: "Northern Pines," "A child´s Portrait," "Chains," "Some Day, O Seeker of Dreams"). Mr. J. F. Edgar (Sir James Edgar´s Poem, "Saguenay"). Fleming, Revell & Co. (Norman Duncan´s "Dr. Luke of the Labrador"). Mr. John Garvin (Isabella Valancy Crawford´s Poems: "Malcolm´s Katie," "River Song," "Faith, Hope and Charity." Glasgow, Brook & Co. (Dr. A. H. U. Colquhoun´s "The Fathers of Confederation," from "Chronicles of Canada"). About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
