And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went himself into the ship, and sate; and all the multitude was standing on the shore. And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, "Behold, the sower went forth to sow. And in his sowing, some seeds fell beside the way; and the fowls came, and ate them up. And others fell on the rocky parts, where they had not much earth; and forthwith they sprang up, because they had not depth of earth. But when the sun was risen, they were scorched; and because they had not root, they were dried up. And others fell on the thorns; and the thorns got up and choked them. And others fell on the good ground, and yielded fruity some an hundred fold, and some sixtyfold, and some thirtyfold. He that hath ears to hear let him hear." Mark iv. 1-9. And again he began to teach by the sea-side: and a great multitude was gathered together unto him, so that he went himself into the ship, and sate in the sea; and all the multitude was on the land by the sea.
