Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from Observations on Mr. Burke´s Speech: On Mr. Fox´s India Bill, in an Address to That Gentleman I say, Sir, such might have been my opinion of your motives on the present occasion, if you had not made it manifest to me and all the world, that talking is your trade that you have long ago bartered every principle of honour, for the sordid consideration of self interest, that the invectives of your speech were dictated as much by the malevolence of your disposition, as in aid of your party; and that your vanity and malignity excited you to publish it. By the former you were flattered with a belief, that your oratory would dignify abuse; and by the latter you were led to hope, that though your falsehoods might not pass without detection, yet they would make an impression to the prejudice of the Company and their servants.
