J The departure of such a man as Stephen Grellet from our community, seemed to demand some public commemoration of his labours and virtues. The writer felt moved, - he humbly trusts by his Divine Master, - to undertake, in connection with a Discourse, a brief Memorial. It is now published in furtherance of its original design, and in compliance with wishes expressed by persons of all denominations of Christians. May a blessing from the Lord attend this attempt to honour His grace and providence in their relations to this good man´s life. It is proper to state that a considerable part of the Discourse was omitted, in the delivery, on account of its length; and also that some additions have been since made to it.
