Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from Memorial of Lydia Lorraine Wheeler: 1840-1902 Lydia Lorraine Hodges was born at Chester, Vt., on the eleventh day of August, 1840. Her mother´s mother was Lydia Loraine Brewster, who was descended from Elder Brewster of the Mayflower. Her father, Silas Henry Hodges, was the son of Judge Hodges, and her mother was the daughter of Judge Fay, both of Rutland County. Her father´s sister married Solomon Foot, who for many years represented Vermont in the United States Senate. Lydia was a great favorite of this uncle, and I have often thought she learned from him how to unite strong feelings with moderation and self-restraint in their expression. This was characteristic of her, as it had been of him. From the beginning of his term in the Senate, Mr. Foot was one of the anti-slavery leaders.
