The greater Part of the earlier Portion of this Diary, in the Form of Extracts, copied out by Lady Cowper´s eldest Daughter, Lady Sarah, about the Year 1730, was lent to Lord Campbell while he was engaged in writing the Lives of the Chancellors, and was used by him freely in his Biography of Lord Cowper.
