In the execution of this purpose it has seemed advisable to use, as far as possible, the language of such authorities as would be recognized as worthy of respectful consideration. Believing that the policy of permitting the control over the circulating medium of the country to be vested to any considerable extent in banks of issue is unalterably opposed to the equitable distribution of wealth, the writer sends forth this little treatise in the hope that it may help some of his countrymen to understand that "the best banking system the world ever saw" is "a cunningly devised scheme to fertilize the rich man´s field by the sweat of the poor man´s brow."
