The repeated entreaties of my friends to give them publicity, have at length induced me to listen to their solicitations, and em¬bark them on the wide ocean of public opinion. They may amuse, though I will not presume they will instruct, some of the many readers of the present day; but if they only for a short space recall the bright sunny morn of boyhood, and give but a faint retrospective view of their happy school-days, to those who have long forgotten or, at least, in the busy toil of manhood have little time to think upon them, I shall be abundantly rewarded.
