Excerpt from An Humble Attempt to Reconcile the Differences of Christians: Respecting the Extent of the Atonement by Showing That the Controversy Which Exists on the Subject Is Chiefly Verbal to Which Is Added an Appendix, Exhibiting the Influence of Christ´s Obedience Be it remembered, that on the twenty-sixth day of March, in the 43d year of the Independence of the United States of America, Jonathan Seymour of the said District, hath deposited in this office the title of a Book, the right whereof he claims as Proprietor, in the words following, to wit: "An humble attempt to reconcile the differences of Christians respecting the extent of the Atonement, by showing that the controversy which exists on the subject is chiefly verbal. To which is added an Appendix, exhibiting the influence of Christ´s Obedience By Edward D. Griffin, D. D., Pastor of the Second Presbyterian Church in Newark, New-Jersey. In conformity to the Act of the Congress of the United States, entitled "An Act for the encouragement of Learning, by securing the copies of Maps, Charts, and Books to the authors and proprietors of such copies, during the time therein mentioned:" And also to an Act, entitled, "An Act, supplementary to an Act, entitled: an Act for the encouragement of Learning by securing the copies of Maps, Charts, and Book to the authors and proprietors of such copies, during the times therein mentioned, and extending the benefits thereof to the arts of designing, engraving, and etching historical nd other prints."
