Excerpt from The Miracles of Unbelief The satisfaction with which an author regard the necessity for another edition of his work, is enhanced by the opportunity it affords to correct any newly discovered errors, and take respectful notice of further criticism. as to the former, thanks are due, in the present case, to friends who have pointed out one or two slight inaccuracies which had hitherto been overlooked. In regard to the latter, the only press comment requiring attention has been the issue of an avowed "Reply" by Mr. Charles Watts, entitled The Miracles of Christian Belief. Such notice as this work seems to merit will be found on p. 359 ff of this edition. For the rest, I have to thanks many correspondents for kind words of appreciation; and whilst wishing that my work were worthier of their regard, I can but repeat my assurance that every word is written wit a sincere conviction born of many years of careful study. The tu quoque style of reply to antichristian objections is at best confessedly imperfect, and leaves large room for clearer demonstration and more positive statement.
