Be it further resolved, That a copy of this resolution be communicated by the President to General Beauregard, and through him to the army then under his command. Approved May 4, 1861. No. 104.] A Resolution To extend the provisions of a Resolution approved March 4, 1861. Resolved by the Congress of the Confederate States of America, That the resolution passed by this Congress and approved March the fourth, 1861, in relation to patents and caveats, be extended to citizens of all the slaveholding States. Approved May 4, 1861. No. 105.] An Act Providing for a Regiment of Zouaves in the Army of the Confederate States. Section 1. The Congress of the Confederate States of America do enact. That there shall be added to the military establishment of the Confederate States one regiment of Zouaves, to be composed of one colonel, one lieutenant-colonel, one major, and ten companies; and each company shall consist of one captain, one first lieutenant, two second lieutenants, one sergeant major, one quartermaster´s sergeant, four sergeants and eight corporals, and ninety privates. And to the regiment there shall be attached one adjutant and a quartermaster, to be selected from the lieutenants. And one assistant surgeon shall be appointed for the regiment, in addition to those already authorized by law for the medical department.
