Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from Diary of the Late Rajah of Kolhapoor, During His Visit to Europe in 1870 A Good deal of interest was excited in London and elsewhere last year by the appearance of a Hindoo Rajah, who went to all places of public resort, and seemed to take a most intelligent interest in all he saw. Those who inquired about him were informed that he was the Rajah of Kolhapoor, a territory in the Bombay Presidency, and that he was of high lineage, being descended from the Great Sivajee, the founder of the Mahratta Empire. Towards the end of the year the papers announced the death of the Rajah in Florence, when he was returning to his native country, and the attention of the public was drawn to the strange sight of the cremation of the corpse of an Indian Prince, according to the rites of the Hindoo religion, on the banks of the Arno.
