I suppose it was long since delivered to the under-keeper in my absence, who forgot to send it me to the country (where I have been all this winter and spring) in due time. I acknowledged the receipt of your former, in a letter soon after, to our excellent friend Dr. R., who, I supposed, met and corresponded with you pretty often.
