Stock, for the purpose of establishing an Annual Prize, to be awarded to the Graduate who should produce the best Essay on a subject to be set by the Vice-Chancellor. On the day after this offer was communicated to the Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Burney died; but his sister and executrix, Miss J. Caroline Burney, being desirous of carrying her brother´s intentions into effect, generously renewed the offer.
