Riegle, Jr. (chairman of the committee) presiding. Opening Statement Of Chairman Donald W. Riegle, Jr. The Chairman. The meeting will come to order. Let me welcome all those in attendance this morning. We´re meeting today to consider the nominations of Kenneth Brody of New York to be President and Chairman of the Export-Import Bank. Roberta Achtenberg from California to be an Assistant Secretary of HUD for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity. And Nicolas Retsinas of Rhode Island to be an Assistant Secretary of HUD for Federal Housing Administration. We´re going to begin with the nomination, this morning, of Ken Brody, the President of the Export-Import Bank. Certainly Mr. Brody brings an impressive background. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering, awarded with high honors in June 1964, and then served as an officer in the United States Army.
