Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from Mr. John Morley and Home Rule, Vol. 1 of 2: The Arguments Against Home Rule Unanswered by Mr. Morley When a thinker so profound, a stylist so unique, a scholar so learned, and a man so sincere, as John Morley enters the political arena as a champion of the Irish Home Rule movement, it is only reasonable and natural that all upholders of the Legislative Union should inquire whether or no Mr. Morley has essayed to answer the three leading and fundamental arguments against the severance of that Union, and the establishment of an Irish Parliament in College Green. If upon examination it be found that Mr. Morley has not attempted to answer those arguments, we may fairly ask ourselves why he has not made the attempt; and the object of this Essay will be to show the reason why he has never really confronted the three great arguments against Home Rule. Those three fundamental arguments will be clearly and concisely stated in the second part of this Essay and it will be shown that Mr. Morley has never answered or substantially and really attempted to answer them; and, furthermore, he will be invited to answer them if he can when addressing his great Gladstone-Parnell or Parnell-Gladstone audience in the Leinster Hall in this city.
