The town, as I have stated already, is, in its general character, much more German than Hungarian; and the people, a mixture of the two races, exhibit some of the peculiarities of both. Moreover, on market-days, - and, indeed, at an early hour of every morning, - bands of country-people come in, whose swarthy features, and wild and outlandish costumes, bespeak them as belonging to a race quite distinct from that of the burghers.
