Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from Church Questions "The Real Presence of Christ´s most Blessed Body and Blood is not to be sought for in the Sacrament, but in the worthy receiver of the Sacrament." Richard Hooker. "Continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them." - 2 Tim. iii. 14. The Sacramental teaching of the Church of England is definite and clear. It is not that of Rome. It is not that of Luther. It is not that commonly ascribed to Zwinglius. These views all are comparatively modern. Our Church´s doctrine is "that which was from the beginning." It goes back to the institution of Christ and the teaching of the New Testament. To the Church, then, we appeal for an answer to the particular "Church question" before us to-day: Where, and when, and how, is the Body and Blood of Christ really present in the Sacrament of the Lord´s Supper? In 1594, only twenty-three years after the final publication of the Thirty-nine Articles, the "judicious Hooker" answered the question thus: "The Real Presence of Christ´s most Blessed Body and Blood is not to be sought for in the Sacrament, but in the worthy receiver of the Sacrament" ("Eccl. Pol.," V. Ixvii. 6). These words are clear. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
