Gathering all the garments the baby had ever worn, and catching her boy to her heart, she stumbled out of the hut into the full light of a summer day. The sunlight dazzled her, and the throbbing in her temples was almost beyond endurance. She must lay him on the hillside, but let it be in the shade where the burning rays of the sun would be warded off.
