Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from Bibliography of the Writings of Sir William Osler The Bibliography of Sir William Osler, covering a period of forty-nine years (1870-1919) and representing 730 titles, which I compiled at the request of the Superintendent of The Johns Hopkins Hospital, was published in the Osler Number of The Johns Hopkins Hospital Bulletin; as published in the volume Sir William Osler, Bart. (1920), additional titles, many of which were sent the compiler by Sir William, brought the number up to 773. The increase to the present number of 1,195 titles has been made through pleasant, if labourious, research as well as by the generous help of Sir William Osler´s friends. If all suggestions as to titles have not been accepted, it is because the authorship of many unsigned articles could not be established and not from lack of appreciation of the kindness of those who gave them. I am particularly grateful to Dr. W. W. Francis, who was the bearer of messages from Sir William, and who has given valuable addenda. My indebtedness is great to Dr. Thomas McCrae whose advice has been invaluable, and to Messrs. Lea and Febiger who unearthed numerous unsigned editorials and gave me their titles. The kindness of Dr. Wilburt C. Davison in lending the photograph (a gift of Sir William to Dr. Davison) which appears as a frontispiece, has placed me under lasting gratitude.
