Excerpt from Memorial Addresses on the Life and Character of John S. Barbour (a Senator From Virginia): Delivered in the Senate and House of Representatives, February 3 and 25, 1893 Resolved by the Senate (the House of Representatives concurring), That there be printed of the eulogies delivered in Congress upon the Hon. John S. Barbour, late a Senator from the State of Virginia, 8,000 copies, of which 2,000 copies shall he delivered to the Senators and Representatives of that State, and of the remaining number 2,000 shall he for the use of the Senate and 4,000 copies for the use of the House, and of the quota of the Senate the Public Printer shall set aside 50 copies, which he shall have bound in full morocco with gilt edges, the same to be delivered when completed to the family of the deceased; and the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby directed to have engraved and printed at the earliest day practicable a portrait of the deceased to accompany said eulogies.
