Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from The Earlier Life and the Chief Earlier Works of Daniel Defoe Danial Foe - afterwords De Foe - may have been born in the year 1661, in the parish of St. Giles´s, Cripplegate. There is no evidence of the date of his birth beyond a passage in a pamphlet of thirty or forty pages, published by him under an assumed name in November 1727. The writer says that he is in his sixty-seventh year. Daniel Defoe died on the 26th of April 1731. He had been named Daniel after his grandfather, of whom we learn accidentally, from a passage written in 1711 in the seventh volume of Defoe´s "Review," that in the time of Charles the First he kept a pack of hounds, and formed his own estate at Elton, in Northamptonshire. James, son of Daniel Foe, a younger son, with steady character, found a way to success by bringing cattle from their grazing grounds to the London meat-market.
