Excerpt from Boyish Reminiscences of His Majesty the King´s Visit to Canada in 1860 Shortly after the accession of His Majesty King Edward, these reminiscences of my dear husband, Lieutenant Gough, R.N., appeared in the Sun, a Melbourne weekly newspaper. In accordance with a widely expressed wish, their publication in book form was determined upon, but the untimely death of the writer intervened and prevented it being attempted. Lieutenant Gough had intended to come to London to arrange for the publication, as he wanted to get permission from the proprietors of the Illustrated London News to reproduce the pictures by their special artist, Mr. W.
