Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from History of the Right Honourable William Pitt, Earl of Chatham, Vol. 2 of 2: Containing His Speeches in Parliament; A Considerable Portion of His Correspondence, When Secretary of State, Upon French, Spanish, and American Affairs, Never Before Published Mr. Pitt was succeeded by the Earl of Egremont as Secretary of State for the southern department, and the Duke of Bedford received the privy seal which Lord Temple had resigned. On the 12th of October Mr. James Grenville resigned the office of Cofferer to his Majesty. These were the only changes which attended the retirement of one of the greatest ministers that ever lived. Lord Bute was now regarded as the head of the administration, and as such received profuse expressions of attachment from every aspirant to court favor and employment. None were more obsequious than Lord Melcombe. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
