In the autumn of 1894 - five years after the publication of "Hierosalem" - paralysis befell the writer´s companion while he was fishing in the woods of Maine. Then, at that sudden crisis, the ten years´ study which had been given in writing the Psycho-Spiritual novel, "Hierosalem" became of life-saving value, as its principles were practicalized in restoring bodily health while keeping the invalid´s mind in touch with the thinking world, within and about him.
