After many years they were gathered up and the building went slowly on as I planted and wrought hard with hands and head away out here by the great Sundown Seas. Three small editions of parts of this book appeared in 1894, when the plates were melted. It was never really published till now so far as press and public are connected, the small and unfinished editions being absorbed mainly by personal friends.
