Unask´d I press the poet´s wonder-land, A mute well-nigh to lore of studied sire, While at the Muse´s touch of stranger wand, Outcreeps my immur´d soul of latent fire, Whose lazy lines too tardy to inspire, Accordant join and fill my truant song; That fain secluded would awhile retire, As o´er life´s busy track I haste along, A crownless child of earth lone melting ´mid the throng.
