Yet do we not disparage reasonings; for these, when enlightened, are the ministers of judgment. Our purpose is to show, in a series of life-pictures, what woman can do, as well for good as for evil. We design to bring her before you as a living entity, that you may see her as she is, and comprehend in some small degree the influence she wields in the world´s progress upward, as well as her power to mar the human soul and drag it down to perdition when her own spirit is darkened by evil passions.
