As these young men are nearly all members of the Young Men´s Christian Association, the addresses this year have been more closely related than formerly, both in theme and manner of development, to the interests of the Association. This fact, together with the greater time and attention devoted to special Association work, has called for some slight changes in the arrangement from the books of former years. An entire chapter has been devoted to a history of the Students´ Volunteer Movement. Two of the longest chapters present the religious crisis in Japan, and the work of the Young Men´s Christian Association in that country; conditions which came to the front in the discussion of practical Christian work. Another chapter has been introduced, descriptive of the meetings themselves, which will bring before the minds of those who have been present the blessed hours which they have spent among the beautiful hills of Northfield, while it cannot fail to be of interest to others who have not enjoyed this privilege.
