Excerpt from Report of the Adjutant General of Maryland: 1906-1907 Sirs - In accordance with the requirements of Section 39, Article LXV, Public General Laws of Maryland, I have the honor to submit herewith the fiscal reports of this Department for the years 1906 and 1907, together with a detailed statement showing the United States and State property issued to the various organizations and in the Military Storehouse. I also transmit herewith reports from the Commanding Officer of the First Brigade and his Staff Officers covering the work of the land forces; from the Commanding Officer of the Naval Brigade referring to the operations of the Naval Militia, and from the Commanding Officer of the Veteran Corps, Fifth Regiment Infantry; as well as copies of General Orders and Circulars issued by these Headquarters during the past two years; a brief historical sketch of the Militia of Maryland, with biographical sketches of all former Adjutants General of this State; an article descriptive of the flags now in the Flag Room, and a roster of the officers serving in the Organized Militia of Maryland. Fiscal Reports. By strict economy the expenses of this department have been kept within the appropriation made by the General Assembly of 1906, but it must be remembered that the balances available on January 1, 1908, are not more than sufficient to meet outstanding obligations which have already been incurred, and to cover the current expenses of the Brigade and the Adjutant General´s office for the ensuing nine months, or until October 1, 1908.
