In times of less importance, private Friendship, or even political Opinion, might, to a certain Degree, have justified the Bias - but at a moment like the present, when, under the threatening Circumstances which surround us, our very existence as an independent Nation seems at stake; every Idea of partiality should, as far as Human Nature will permit, be done away, and every other consideration should give place to Conviction.
