Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from The Irish Question: The Chicago Convention What the Convention Did. The Convention of the Irish race in America, which assembled in Chicago on the 18th August, 1886, has attracted so much attention in England, and has been the subject of so much misrepresentation by the enemies of Ireland, that it is desirable that its character, spirit, and work, should be clearly made known to the public. We will first state what the Convention really did, and then what it did not do. Number of Delegates. The total number of delegates who assembled was 972 almost every State and Territory in the American Union being represented; and an evidence of the growth of the movement was supplied by the presence, in addition, of each of the provinces of Canada.
