Produktbeschreibung

Excerpt from The Society of the Army of the Potomac: Report of the Sixteenth Annual Re-Union, at Baltimore, MD, May 6 and 7, 1885 At the Annual Re-union in Brooklyn, a most cordial invitation was received from the Mayor, the Merchants´ and Manufacturers´ Association, the G. A. R., Department of Maryland, the Corn and Flour Exchange and other prominent business associations to the Society to meet in Baltimore the ensuing year. The invitation was accepted with great enthusiasm. Soon after, a committee was organized in Baltimore to prepare for the meeting. The local papers entered into the matter with great zest, and very much is due to them for the success of the meeting. The Committee of Arrangements was formed early in the fall, as follows: General F. C. Latrobe. chairman; General Felix Agnus, Major F. W. Simon, Messrs. H. C. Smith, S. P. Thompson, John E. Hurst. F. P. Stevens. John Q. A. Herring, German H. Hunt, Major F. W. Coleman, W. S. Powell, James A. Gary, George Savage, W. O. Saville, John R. Bland, Colonel Steuart Brown, J. Frank Supplee, George H. C. Neal, J. Frank Morrison, Colonel John L. Thomas, Joshua Horner, Captain F. X. Ward, J. D. Mallory, D. Iititzler and Colonel Wm. H. Love (secretary). The headquarters of the Society were established at the Carrollton House, the proprietor of which. Major F. W. Coleman, was a soldier in the Army of the Potomac and an active and efficient member of the Re-Union Committee. The Corps meetings were held at 11 A. M. in the respective quarters assigned to them. Their proceedings are inserted at the close of the Society report. The General Society met at Ford´s Opera House.
