Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from The Law of Elections: As Viewed in the Light of the Election Petitions of 1892 The General Election, 1892, has produced its batch of Election Petitions, and the public has had once more opportunities of seeing how unscrupulous agents, and misguided, over-zealous friends may endanger a candidate´s election. While, on the one hand, a beneficent providence, in the form of an Election Court, may save him from the effects of those illegal acts by stretching the powers of relief given them by the Corrupt and Illegal Practices Act to the fullest extent, a Court differently constituted may unseat him for some trivial breach of the same Act, or, owing to a difference of opinion between the judges, may retain him in the seat, although, so far as the public are able to judge, evidence has been given of an extensive breach of the law.
