Porter, consisted of the following gentlemen: John Van Buren, Daniel Huntington, Lewis Lutherford, Joseph H. Choate, Charles H.Ogden, William E.Curtis, and A. Rodney Macdonough. Mr. Macdonough was chosen by them to prepare the resolutions, and Mr. Frederic S. Cozzens to read a paper upon the public life and character of Colonel Porter. The celebration of Mr. Bryant´s birthday having been appointed for the November meeting, it was decided to postpone the reports of this committee until the first Saturday in December.
