Edward, Cambridge In publishing this Fourth Series of Parish Sermons I have to remark, that it differs from its predecessors in consisting of a continuous course; the subject being Duty towards God and our Neighbour, and the division of the subject that supplied by the two summaries of duty given in the Church Catechism. I am strongly of opinion that the teaching of a Parish Pulpit is much benefited by occasionally assuming such a form, and I have wished to support and press the opinion by publishing this practical comment upon it. At the same time it should he observed, that the Sermons in this volume by no means hang together in such a manner as to be only intelligible when read in regular succession.
