The railroad era in this country has hardly dawned. We see nothing of enterprise in this department in comparison with what we shall see. Already it has aspired to control the Legislature and the Courts, and even Congress has bowed to its mandates; while the dictation of a President of the United States is in no wise out of the range of its possibilities.
