They are frequently in foreign tongues, and abounding in references given in the original Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. For these and other reasons the works to which I refer are of little value to any but advanced students. Necessarily this book has been a compilation from the standard works on the subject, and it is a digest of what has been decided by those best qualified to speak on this interesting branch of science.
