P. Chase, of a valuable and beautiful testimonial of grateful regard by the Colored People of Cincinnati, was an incident too novel in its occurrence, and far too interesting in its moral aspect, to receive only the passing record of the daily press. Attentive observers have long appreciated the fact, that our colored population are not less sensitive to kindness than patient of aggression and contumely; but the delicate and appropriate manner in which this sensibility was manifested on the occasion referred to, has attracted no inconsiderable attention in this community, and certainly indicates a refinement of sentiment, which every lover of the well-being and progress of society must regard with peculiar and cordial interest.
