Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from The Quaker Poets of Great Britain and Ireland I Desire to express my indebtedness in preparing this volume to Joseph Smith´s "Catalogue of Friends´ Books and Appendix," to "Nodal´s Bibliography of Ackworth," to William Andrews´ "North Country Poets" and "Modern Yorkshire Poets," to James Hurnard´s and John Harris´s Autobiographies, and to many other books and pamphlets too numerous to mention by name. I also wish to express my grateful thanks to all those Friends who have so kindly and generously supplied me with biographical details and poems, and who have spared neither time nor trouble in their efforts to help and advise me. The great number of good verse-writers in the Society has rendered the task of selection a difficult one, and want of space alone has prevented my including such names as the brothers Wiffen, Mary Sewell, Thomas Letchworth, Paul Moon James, Sarah Ellis, and many others which will at once suggest themselves to the reader. I have taken every possible precaution with regard to copyright, having in all cases where practicable consulted either the poets, or their publishers, or representatives, before reproducing poems or other matter. Should I, however, have inadvertently infringed any rights, I beg to apologise for the error. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
