The centennial of this event was duly celebrated on July 24, 1871. In commemoration of its 150th anniversary the exercises hereinafter described were held on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 26th, 1921. As the original suggestion for the formation of the Hospital was made in Trinity Church in 1769, there was thought to be special fitness in celebrating the anniversary in the same place, and by the courtesy of its Rector, the Bishop of New York, and of its Vestry, permission for this was given.
